Rules for posting comments

I want to learn, listen and dialogue, robustly and vigorously, and welcome comments on my articles. Whilst this site is open for comments it is not open for any kind of comment.

We live in an age of sound bites, virtue signalling and polarised sniping. This site is not the place for those kinds of comments. So three simple guidelines for comments and conversation here.

  1. No Ad hominem arguments: In other words, play the ball, not the person. Make sure you have read the articles. Don’t use an article to jump to a pet peeve and hobby horse. Respond to what was written not what was not.

  2. Be Civil: Be civil. Disagree, interrogate, pull apart, critique. But do it with civility.

  3. Engage: As in no, 2. Let’s learn together.
